MURFREESBORO, NC-The Â鶹ÊÓƵ women's tennis team picked up a 8-1 victory for their 2017 home debut over University of Mount Olive on Friday afternoon. The Hawks improved to a 2-2 on the season while, the Trojans slipped to a 1-2 overall.

In doubles play, the Hawks secured two of the doubles matches. At the number one position,  and , fell to Stella Di Michelle and Nicole La Chappelle. Chowan's Daneshjoo Roxana and  recovered in the number two doubles position 8-1 over Julissa Quintanilla and Emma Burroughs.  and  picked up the victory in the number three doubles by a forfeit from the Trojans.

The Hawks swepted each of the six singles positions to secure the 8-1 win. At the number one singles match,  defeated Stella Di Michelle in the tie breaker set 4-6, 6-4,10-6.  won the second singles match 6-2, 6-0 over Nicole La Chappelle. Mount Olive's Julissa Quintanilla fell to  6-1, 6-2 in the number four singles position, while,  took the 6-1, 6-4 victory in the number four singles to Emma Burroughs. Carrier and Gouin earned a victory in the fifth and sixth singles position by a forfeit from the Trojans.

The Hawks return to action as they travel to Raleigh, North Carolina for a match up to Meredith College. Match time slated for 3:00pm.
