Associate Professor of Music at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Dr. Christopher Cook, has been voted by the Board of the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS) to represent the society at the 41st International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music General Assembly (HELMCA). Dr. Cook’s electronic musical composition, Motor, has been selected by SEAMUS membership to be included on the SEAMUS 2024 CD/Album Release. 

Electroacoustic Music Days will take place from November 1-4, 2023, in Rethymno, Greece. Dr. Cook will receive the distinguished honor alongside a colleague from Indiana University and the University of Virginia, which brings a welcome sprinkle of international glamor to Murfreesboro, NC. After receiving the fantastic news, Dr. Cook joyfully shared, “Motor is inspired by the complex sounds generated by the internal combustion engine. These sounds were then shaped into beat patterns to form the musical composition. I am humbled and honored to be recognized by my peers.”
