Chowan welcomes Ms. Sarah Alt as the University’s Assistant to the Registrar. Her mother, Dr. Shirley Alt, is the Associate Professor of Psychology and most recent recipient of the prestigious Alpha Chi Teacher of the Year Award. Sarah Alt received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Business from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.

Before Sarah Alt applied for a position with Chowan, she was an assistant operations analyst for the Long Term Care Group Inc. (LTCG), a company that provides business process outsourcing. Prior to this occupation, she worked for seven years as a hairstylist for Regis Corporation. Sarah Alt is excited about this new chapter in her career. Dr. Alt had portrayed Chowan’s peaceful location, the community’s kindness, and the institution's care for all its members to her daughter as components that elevate the work experience as second to none. Her mother’s description inspired Sarah to switch occupations and find new fulfillment and joy in her daily work as Chowan’s Assistant to the Registrar.
