Chowan Hire Brings Alumna Home

Oct 6, 2020 by Staff Reports

Chowan welcomes Anna Eure, class of 2009, as the University’s Admissions Counselor & Campus Visit Coordinator. Anna resides with her husband, Clay Eure, and one-year-old daughter Kennedi, thirty minutes south of Murfreesboro in Roxobel, NC. The Chowan alumna enjoys spending time with her family in nature, whether on their farm hauling grain, grilling out, hunting or fishing.

Anna’s family-focused life is likewise reflected in her love for Â鶹ÊÓƵ. The campus’s atmosphere has an inviting “close-knit family feel” experienced through small class sizes and the variety of activities offered to the students. Anna recalls her time as a Hawk, reminiscing how it was through “these pieces that I was able to meet some of my best friends that have walked through life with me. The friends that I met as a student are the same friends I have today, and we are now raising our children together.” Essentially, Chowan gave Anna another family to enjoy and cherish.

As a student, it was this “small, family feel” that attracted Anna to Chowan. Additionally, she wanted to attend an institution that would provide her the opportunity to be successful “on [her] own terms”. The importance of being known as a name, rather than a number, was paramount. Anna understood that Chowan had the capacity to foster her abilities and help her grow as a student and as an individual. Now returning to Chowan as the University’s Admissions Counselor & Campus Visit Coordinator, Anna looks forward to giving back and coming home. These desires draw Anna to her position as she wants “to play a role in the success of Â鶹ÊÓƵ and… to make a difference in the lives of students and their families.” Anna is empowered knowing that she is the connection between prospective students and the University. She is excited to begin channeling her passion for Chowan and conveying it “in a way that makes students excited about attending.” Anna’s deeply rooted devotion to Â鶹ÊÓƵ and its ever-expanding family of Hawks instills a fiery passion within her to contribute to adding more members to our household.
