Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ hires Juilliard Alumna Deborah Kiszely-Papp

Dr. Deborah Kiszely-Papp joins the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Department of Music as Assistant Professor. 

Kiszely-Papp earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from the City University of New York where she studied piano with Herbert Stessin. She completed her Master of Music degree as a student of György Sándor at The Juilliard School. Her Bachelor of Music degree is from the New England Conservatory of Music.

Kiszely-Papp teaches a range of piano courses and chamber music. Her curriculum vitae includes concerto performances where she served as a conductor, along with solo and collaborative concerts in locations across the nation. “I am excited to be part of a university that is growing and to be surrounded by so many dedicated professionals in a Christian environment. I am committed to promoting the artistic development of the aspiring students with whom I work daily,” said Kiszely-Papp.

Kiszely-Papp, is an active performer and lecture-recitalist who has collaborated with renowned artists in Europe and throughout the United States. A Fulbright scholar to Hungary (1993-95), she served for ten years as a resident scholar/founding director of the ErnÅ‘ Dohnányi Archives at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Institute for Musicology in Budapest, and performs his music frequently.

In the United States, Kiszely-Papp taught piano and chamber music and worked as a collaborative pianist at The Juilliard School, Queens College, Gonzaga University, and Whitworth College. She was chosen as a teaching artist for the Lincoln Center Institute and a collaborative pianist for the Aspen Music Festival. Kiszely-Papp worked as a collaborative artist at the Interlochen Arts Festival and at the Académie Musicale de Morges, Switzerland.

Kiszely-Papp has international experience presenting lecture-recitals in piano, and her articles are printed in national and international publications. Her professional affiliations include the College Music Society (CMS), Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and Pi Kappa Lambda.
