Dr. Warren Milteer, Assistant Professor of history at the University of South Carolina, headlined the Reverend George T. and Luvenia B. Rouson Memorial Lecture with a presentation about free people of color in Hertford County, and received the Rouson Memorial Lecture Award. Katie Vaughan Parker received the Minnie Wood Perkins Award. She is a tireless community servant who continues to donate her time and money to community projects.
