Gates Notches Second CIAA Rookie Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced on Wednesday CIAA Volleyball Players and Coach of the Week for Week Six of the 2017 season.
Rookie, , earned her second straight CIAA Rookie of the Week honor. The Chesapake, Va. native just missed her second double-double of her career with nine kills and a career-high 14 digs to help the Hawks defeat Virginia State in a battle of the CIAA Northern Division. Gates is fourth on the team in kills.
Chowan returns to the court on Thursday in a CIAA Northern Division clash against Elizabeth City State at home.
