Gates Earns CIAA VB Rookie of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced on Tuesday CIAA Volleyball Players and Coach of the Week for Week Four of the 2017 season.
Rookie, , earned her first CIAA honors after being named CIAA Rookie of the Week. The Chesapake, Va. native recorded 27 kills and 36 digs during the week helping the Hawks to a 3-1 week. Gates tallied her first career double-double in a four set loss to Fayetteville State with 11 kills and 13 digs.
Chowan returns to the court on Thursday in a CIAA Northern Division clash against Virginia State at home.
