CU Men’s Tennis Clipped Tiffin University
MURFREESBORO, NC-The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men's tennis team edged Tiffin University 6-3 on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks improve to 2-3 on the season while the Dragons fell to 6-2 with the setback.
Chowan clinched all three doubles matches over Tiffin to earn an early 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
In singles play, defeated Luis Ludena 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 in the number one singles match. The Dragons recovered in the number two position as fell to Isaac Andrew, while picked up the number three singles for Chowan 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 over Elio Lezama. Tiffin's Sorin Novatchi won the number four singles match over 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, while defeated Toby Cutting 6-1, 6-4 in the fifth singles play. The Dragons secured the number six singles position, Justin Kopronica over 6-4, 6-4.
The Hawks are back in action as they travel to Newport News, Virginia to match up against Christopher Newport University. Match time is slated for 10:00am.
