Christmas at Chowan and Winter Choral Concerts
MURFREESBORO, NC – Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Department of Music is proud to present two upcoming holiday performances full of traditional Christmas classics and other holiday favorites.
On Sunday, December 4th at 4:30 PM, the Department of Music will present their annual “Christmas at Chowan” concert in Turner Auditorium. Dr. Lisa Lowry, soprano and new faculty member in the Department of Music, will present O Holy Night with resident collaborative artist Paula Pressnell. The concert will feature the Chowan Winds, and the Jazz Band under the direction of Mike Butrico. The new Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Benjamin Thorburn, will present The Chowan Singers and The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Men’s Choir in an array of traditional songs. The free concert will also feature a special children’s time where children can go on stage and enjoy the reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas by a mystery guest reader.
On Monday, December 5th at 7:30 PM, the Chowan Singers at Murfreesboro Baptist Church, will present their Winter Choral Concert. This concert will feature traditional Christmas arrangements, but will also include winter themed music.
