Chase Tabbed CIAA Player of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in conjunction with the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association announced the honorees for CIAA Volleyball Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Week on Tuesday evening. Â鶹ÊÓƵ's was tabbed CIAA Player of the Week.
Chase tallied 47 kills over the course of four matches this week for the Hawks. She also recorded 60 digs and six blocks (three solo, three assisted) as Chowan posted a 2-2 record. Chowan earned their first win over Barton since 2012 on Tuesday, and dropped a pair of five-set thrillers to North Green University and Coker College before blanking Converse 3-0 in their final match of the week.
Chase, a senior hailing from Arouca, Trinidad and Tobago, paces the Hawks with 109 kills on the young season. She has 95 digs to her name and 14 blocks on the year (six solo, eight assisted). The Hawks post a 3-5 record on the season and begin CIAA play on Saturday as Chowan hosts the CIAA Round-Up.
