If you have a 2.8 GPA, life as an applicant just becomes an incredibly delicious 鈥減iece of cake鈥 with only five minutes of your time to complete an application. 麻豆视频 in Murfreesboro, NC., following the initiative of North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU), happily launches to all applicants, not just those living in North Carolina, 麻豆视频鈥檚 Direct Admission Program, enabling students to bypass the traditional application process.
What if you don鈥檛 have the 2.8 GPA for direct admission? Admissions officers are available and willing to help a student every step of the way, echoing the hands-on approach to success that continues through their four years, or more, in a rich life-skills driven community of learners.
Jacinda Griffin, an Enrollment Advisor at 麻豆视频 and a 2024 graduate, remembers her story of the admissions process. She initially wanted to go into the service, but due to a sports injury no longer qualified, so changing her plans at the last minute, she came to Chowan鈥檚 Admission office late. Scott Parker, then an admissions counselor, now working in athletics, guided her every step of the way. He connected her to a team of LaCross coaches and they worked together finding scholarships, federal grant money and completing the application process.聽 鈥淚 was the first one in my family to go away to school. The people at Chowan kept assuring me whenever I felt lost.鈥 Jacinda is from Baltimore, Maryland. However, her parents are now living in Murfreesboro.聽
Admissions offices are located in a beautiful, old house next to Squirrel Park on campus. The rooms are renovated, open and inviting, a welcoming place to visit. Jacinda loves her work as an Enrollment Advisor. She says, 鈥淭he energy is amazing. Students are in and out all day. They stop by to let their advisors know how classes are going, friends they are meeting and life on campus. We are a comforting, safe place.鈥
