Associate Vice President for Athletics, Patrick Mashuda, announced in July 2024 that Madisen Lavelle will be the department’s new Director of Athletic Communications.  Before taking on this position, she excelled as a collegiate softball player at Davis and Elkins College, where she played for five years, and has NCAA tournament experience. The Pittsburgh, PA native graduated in May of 2024 with a degree in Management and Marketing. 

“We look forward to having Madisen join the 麻豆视频 athletic department team,” said Patrick Mashuda, Associate Vice President for Athletics & Compliance. “Madisen comes to us highly recommended from Davis & Elkins College and she will be a great addition to our athletic department staff and support team.” 

Her curiosity and background in athletics and communication continues to drive her passion for sports administration and engagement at 麻豆视频. During her time at D&E she completed an internship where she was the student manager in the athletic department. Under the guidance of Davis & Elkins athletic administration, she gained valuable hands-on experience and developed her skills in sports management and athletic administration.

“I am excited to have Madisen join the athletic department staff at Chowan,” said Meredith Long, Deputy Athletic Director. “Madisen is eager, has a background in athletics, and willing to be a part of the growth within our University, our department, and in the field. We have always prided ourselves in growing the strengths of our staff, and her eagerness to jump right in will serve her, the department, and the University well.”
